Contest rules
1. Participation
a. Permission
Mookum.com invites everyone who has a fun idea to participate at the Mookum.com Design Award.
Only individual persons can submit a design. Individuals and their families who are directly involved in the organization of the competition may not participate.
b. registration
To participate, you must register via the website you info@mookum.com
By registering, participants automatically accept the contest rules. Registration is free. After registration, participants will receive an email confirmation.
The Design deadlines are listed for each challenge and should be respected. Submissions received after the deadline design, are not included.
2. Design challenge
Mookum.com describes the design challenge in a briefing which can be found on www.mookum.com
3. Jury and assessment
After an initial screening of the designs by mookum.com, the best designs will be chosen by the design jury.
Then the online community shall chose (by 'Vote') between their favorite design on the website. The design with the most votes wins the challenge.
A minimum of 50 votes must be achieved.
The voting deadline is indicated for each challenge.
The winner is the one who has obtained the most number of votes, with a minimum of 50, on the design deadline, as stated above,
4. Criteria for assessment
To begin, Mookum will evaluate the entries. During the review, mookum will assess the specific aspects as described in the design briefing.
After that the visitors of the website will vote on the entries. Often visitors take the following aspects into consideration (for inspiration):
- How is the
design innovative or original?
- How does
the design comply to the wishes or needs of buyers?
What vision lies behind the design?
5. Announcement of winners
There are
three winners. On the date specified, the winner is announced for
each challenge.
The report
is published on the website. To understand the voting behavior of
visitors, interim results may be published on the website.
6. Prices and costs
The prize
money will be handed over within one month after the vote deadline is
given. Any taxes on the price should be deducted from the prize shall
be borne at the adres of the winner.
Any costs
related to participation, outlining the design, materials, etc. shall
be borne by the participant.
7. Intellectual property
(A) The intellectual property of the design and all rights resulting therefrom shall remain the property of the participant. Mookum.com intends to one or more (winning) designs to include in its portfolio. However, there is no guarantee that this actually happens. By participating in the contest, the participant agrees that Mookum.com, during the first 6 months after the announcement of the winner, is rightfully the first one that may produce and commercialize the design.
(B) The concept and the content of this site as well as its represented brands, logos, trade names, graphics, page design, the available data, product names, texts and images and software on it are protected by intellectual property rights belonging to Mookum or to third parties Mookum has made an agreement with.
(C) Any reproduction, distribution, sale or other use of this information, in whatever form, is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of Mookum. You undertake yourself to refrain from any infringement of intellectual property rights of Mookum or entitled third parties.
By way of exception the reproduction of certain parts of the site for strictly personal and noncommercial purposes is permitted. Mookum however, reserves the right at any time to withdraw such consent. At the request of Mookum any reproduction or use will be immediate put to an end.
The user acknowledges the intellectual property of Mookum in the website and undertakes to refrain from any infringement of intellectual property rights of Mookum.
(E) With respect to design, by designers who are entrusted to the website, the designers contractually guarantee Mookum that the provided designs do not constitute infringements of intellectual property rights of third parties.
If you would believe any design on this page constitutes infringement of the intellectual property of others, please contact Mookum so infringing designs can be removed. Mookum can not accept responsibility for the breach, now it's virtually impossible to check all designs, or actively seek facts or circumstances that would indicate illegal activity. "
(f) By participating in the contest, entrants give the unconditional right to publish the entry, in the broadest sense of the word without the participant being informed in advance and / or his / her consent is requested!
8. Usage Guidelines
(A) If you wish to log into the site as a registered user, you must at all times act as a diligent member of the community Mookum. As a registered user you comment, design and upload photos. With regard to all material that you entrust to the website, you expressly agree:
- That this
is not creations, graphics, designs, trademarks, logos and other
elements that are protected by intellectual property rights or
personal rights (eg, portrait right, right to reputation) of others,
and
- That it
has not in any way contrary to public order, morality or other
(contractual or non contractual) rights of third parties.
As a registered user Mookum indemnify you against all third party claims based on non-compliance with the above statement. Mookum can not accept liability for material provided by users entrusted to the website.
(B) If you wish to submit a design to Mookum for inclusion in Vote, and possibly Mookum Shop, you must have a designer-ageement with Mookum. This contract defines the conditions of wich your creation must apply to, which license you give to Mookum and how you will therefor be reimbursed.
You can download this contract on the website www.mookum.com afterwich you will be able to print it in duplicates. If you are comfortable with these terms of agreement, the contract must be signed and send in two copies to reddot nv Mookum, Narcissenlaan 3, 3550 Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. Mookum can not include the design in the shop before your signed agreement has been received. You should therefore make sure in advance that you agree with the conditions of the designer-contract.
You can upload your design already in “Idea” before the written agreement was signed by Mookum and returned. In that case you agree, by the mere fact of uploading your design, to the following conditions :
(1) You agree that your design:
- Is an
original design of your hand
- Not
previously disclosed to the public,
- Either in
whole or in part infringes third party intellectual property, and
- Not in
some way contrary to public order, morality or other (contractual or
non contractual) rights of third parties.
You indemnify Mookum against all third party claims, in the case of non-compliance with the above statement.
(2) By uploading your design MyIdea, you acknowledge your rights to disclosure have been exhausted.
(3) You provide a non-exclusive license to mookum to reproduce your design and to communicate it to the public on the website of Mookum, more specifically on the page MyVote. This license applies to the global duration of protection of intellectual property and design. On the page MyVote your design will be commented by the Mookum community. The recording on the MyVote page does not necessarily mean that your design will be included in myshop. You acknowledge this and express consent.
The terms included here (1) to (3) are replaced by the designer agreement, once signed by both parties.
9. Entry conditions
The participant must provide his or her entry electronically via the design-blog on www.mookum.com or info@mookum.com. The entry must contain the following elements:
- A complete
and detailed 3D image of the design, including images in printable
form and in high resolution
- A
description (no more than 100 words) of the vision behind the design
- Biography
of the designer
- Preferably
a movie in which the designer explains his personal design (not
necessary)
- A detailed
description of materials and colors used
A name for the design

Entries will not be returned.
11. Questions
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) and answers are published on the website.
12. responsibilities
Mookum.com is not responsible for:
- Loss, theft or misusage of ownership or any other personal
damage or loss that may be related to the competition
- Any violation of the rights of third parties by contestants
13. binding judgment
The judgment of Mookum.com (initial screening) and indication of the winner by voting via the website is final. Mookum.com agrees with the choice of site visitors who voted. However, only valid votes are counted in the final. A valid vote requires a valid email address, physical address and unique IP address.
Each design award participant and member of Mookum also states to agree to the terms and conditions of Mookum published on the website.
