Barend Massow

About the designer

Born and raised in South Africa, Barend Massow grew up in the countryside outside of Honeydew. He left Johannesburg in 1997 to follow his creative instincts.

Immediately, he had the idea to use the elements which had inspired his childhood as materials: wood, glass and light and he created his first lampshade.

From this unusual design concept he assembled pieces which resemble wooden light bulbs.
