Mookum creates a world of innovative design and lifestyle products that are perfectly tailored to the needs of today's consumers. At Mookum platform, consumers can launch their ideas or needs, creating a new challenge for designers to come up with satisfactory products.
This process is called "crowdsourcing". Designers who accept the challenge can enter their proposal online and consumers can judge by voting on their favourite proposal. When sufficient demand, Mookum takes the step to interested manufacturers and the product offered will be for sale via the website.
The consumer creates a solution to his/her problem and is at the forefront of new innovations and new product development. He/she will often enjoy a "limited edition". By buying the product, he/she also helps launching the careers of young design talents.
topHow come the Mookum items can't be found anywhere else?
All Mookum products are unique products, produced by Mookum.
The designers work with Mookum on producing and marketing the products. Designers who accept the challenge can forward their proposal online and then the consumers judge the proposals by voting for their favorite entry. When there is enough demand, Mookum takes the step to interested manufacturers and the product will be offered for sale via the website.

Mookum aims to offer young designers and creative people (so also students in product design) a platform to market their ideas. We reward you for your ideas and offer you a commission ranging from 3-5% (depending how well the design has been worked out), based on the sales price (excl. transport fee and VAT) and volume sold. Also, members without a company number can benefit from this opportunity. Therefore, if you have a good idea that you have already been toying with for weeks or months, and you finally would like to have it realized, just let us know via our blog or contact us using the email address (design@mookum.com).
topWhat are the restrictions for the designs that Mookum realizes?
Mookum specializes in lifestyle products, particularly in furniture (for indoor as well as outdoor use), lighting, sit bags, rugs, decoration items, etc. Mookum is happy to develop new products in these categories. Indeed, our colleagues in Europe and Asia actually work on a daily basis with and at the factories in order to realize new ideas and projects.
topAm I obliged to buy a product if I voted for it?
If you voted for a product, there is no obligation to buy. Mookum does however offer you a reduction if you decide to purchase the product you voted on earlier. Only products for which our members showed most interest (based on the number of votes) are taken up in the shop catalogue.
By asking members to vote for items, Mookum tries to adapt its catalogue to suit the needs of its clients. In order to be able to vote, you need to register (for free).
topWhat's the difference between Vote, Pre-Sales and Sales?
Mookum has three different categories of products, namely:
VOTING
This product is the vote. Thousands of creative people around the world upload their best ideas, which are evaluated by Mookum, and now it's up to you to vote on the design with the most potential. Our product line is in your hands.
PRE-SALES
You can become shareholder of a product by buying one of the first 10 pieces of a Pre-sales product. 10% of the future online sales in the first year will be divided between the 10 shareholders.
SALES
This product has been launched by Mookum and is now a product in stock. Everything is ready to be sent to you.
topHow do I get the reduction linked for the introduction of friends?
If you invite your friends to learn about Mookum and they place a first order, we reward you! As a sign of appreciation, we offer you a 10€ reduction that you can use for your next purchase at Mookum.
topHow can I place an order at Mookum?
Mookum only accepts orders through the website. In case you have questions you can contact us by email or phone. Orders must be submitted by using our website. That way, your order is taken up in the automatic workflow and doesn’t need a lot of manual intervention: that’s one of the many ways to reduce costs, which allows us to offer you very competitive prices. All prices are in Euro and include VAT. Prices and promotions are only valid for the period they appear on the website.
topIs the transport fee included in the product price?
The transport fee is not included in the product price mentioned on the site. The transport fee is calculated at the moment you put in your order and is shown before you’re asked to confirm your order. Mookum will contact you before delivering your order at your place.
topHow do we arrange the delivery of your order?
We deliver at the (delivery) address you mention when completing your order. Pay attention as to indicate the exact delivery address because extra costs incurred by mentioning a wrong or incomplete address are borne by the client.
DPD makes a total of three attempts to deliver your parcel. If the consignee can't be located, the driver leaves a notification card in the consignee's letter box after the first delivery attempt. A new delivery date can then be arranged with DPD.
Goods are delivered in carton boxes. Our partner for logistics does not recuperate packaging material.
If you, for an urgent matter, will not be able to be present to receive the delivery, we ask you to get in contact with Mookum as soon as possible. We arrange a new appointment for a second presentation.

I would like to change the delivery address. Is this possible?
If you want to change the delivery address after you placed you order, we ask you to contact Mookum as soon as possible via info@mookum.com. The change should be confirmed by Mookum. Changing your delivery address after the finished goods arrived in our warehouse in Europe can entail extra costs which have to be borne by the buyer.
topHow long does it take before I receive my order at home?
The lead time depends to a large extent on the status of the product pre-sale or sales.
Pre-Sales
The orders are collected until the number for production has been reached. This number is then put into production. We strive to deliver the products within 2 months.
Sales
These products are in stock and delivered within a few days.
topHow do I follow up my order?
Mookum strives for transparency. You can easily follow up the actual status of your order online via ‘My account’. You find the order number in the order confirmation email you receive as soon as your order is confirmed. In ‘My account’ you can find all the data and the status of your order 24h/day. We distinguish the following phases : in production, quality control, container loading, sea transport and local transport.
topHow can I execute my payment?
You can pay in 2 different ways:
Via creditcard (Visa, MasterCard and American Express)
How does it work?
On the payment page, you choose the type of credit card you want to use. You fill out your credit card data (your card number and control number, the validity and your name) via our secured SSL procedure and together with Ogone and your credit card organization, we assure a correct and secure settlement of our payment.
If your credit card is accepted, your order passes through and you receive an e-mail with the order confirmation.
Abuse with your credit card.
In case someone tries to cheat you and us with your credit card, you need to inform us by sending an e-mail to info@mookum.com or by contacting our customer service desk by phone. You also need to inform your credit card organization about the fraud with your card.
Via your own bank.
You pay via your own bank. In other words you settle the payment in the internet banking environment you are familiar with, based on the specific payment methods from your own bank. You are accustomed with the system, so it is secure and easy.
How does it work?
When you use internet banking of KBC, Dexia of ING Bank, you can use this method.
You add your order to your shopping cart and choose your payment method.
After you selected your bank, you’re automatically guided to your trusted internet payment environment, where you already see your payment and only need to complete the missing data.
The amount is immediately deducted from your account and Mookum receives a confirmation that your payment was settled.
Then you receive an email with the confirmation of your order.

topIs my payment secure?
Mookum works together with Ogone for online payments. Ogone is market leader for online secure payment systems. Ogone is a secure payment system that collects your financial data in a secure way and afterwards transmits your data to the financial institution that executes the payment transaction. As market leader (Payment Service Providers) Ogone has all the required certificates and permissions of financial institutionals/banks to handle sensitive information.
topDoes Mookum make use of SSL?
Needless to say that Mookum uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to secure all data (addresses, order data, payment details, etc). SSL is an encrypted connection that secures communication via internet. Click here to check the authenticity and validity of our SSL certificate.
topHow do I know that my information is secured?
There are various ways to check whether you are in a secure zone. All browsers that are SSL compatible show a symbol when they work in a secure mode. Moreover, in a secure zone, the start of the URL changes from "http" to "https", which means that the SSL protocol for communication with the server is used.
topWhat is 3-D Secure and SecureCode with creditcards?
3-D Secure en SecureCode make online payments even more secure. The 3-D Secure technology is developed by Visa and is offered under the brand name Verified by Visa. MasterCard also offers this standard under the label of MasterCard SecureCode . 3-D Secure and SecureCode together make up an extra step when placing your order that is meant for your security. You are secured against abuse of your credit card number because you confirm your identity before paying. How does it work? In order to pay for your order, you can be asked to activate 3-D Secure on your card (3-D Secure or SecureCode are not standardly activated). Afterwards you will always be asked for a digital signature with every online verification of your credit card. Your bank then immediately checks this code. Depending on your bank, different variants of this digital signature exist. It can be a password that you chose yourself, a pin code that your bank gave you, but it can also be a digital signature that you prepare with a digipas or a random reader.
